Tired of commercial candles, their paraffin, their chemical fragrances and their black smoke, the founders decided to do things differently. Months of research, countless tests, hundreds of candles poured and poured again. The story of Flammes de Chambly

Two close friends, a new passion

This is the story of two close friends of more than 17 years.

Johanne, who retired in May 2024, was looking for a new project. Maryse, who had always wanted a small business of her own, jumped right in when Johanne suggested making handcrafted candles.

The two friends took courses and spent more than six months developing their products so they would be exactly as they imagined them: high-quality candles, made from 100% pure ingredients and created with joy. What started as a small project quickly became a new passion!

Today, every candle is created in our workshop and made entirely by hand, with the same ingredients, the same care and the same high standards.

Our craft

From wax to jar, never rushed

Every candle goes through the same four steps, in the same order, in our workshop.

Selection

Only pure soy wax, with no additives, and 100% pure essential oils. Our wooden wicks give off a pleasant crackle when the candle is lit.

Development

Each fragrance is the result of a long process. We test ratios, observe the burn and adjust until everything is just right.

Pouring

The wax is melted at an exact temperature. The essential oils are added at a precise moment. Each jar is filled by hand.

4

Curing

All our candles rest for at least 72 hours. The scent sets and the surface settles. There is no rushing.

Care tips

To enjoy every hour

A few simple habits for an even burn and the full 45 hours.

2–3 h First use

Let it burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the jar. This ensures an even burn every time you light it afterwards.

4 h Burn time

Never leave your candle burning for more than 4 hours in a row.

5 mm Wick care

Always trim the wick to 5 mm before each use, ideally with a wick trimmer.

1 cm When to stop

Stop using the candle when about 1 cm of wax is left at the bottom of the jar.

Cleaning

Rinse the jar with very hot water and clean it with mild soap. Never use metal objects, which could damage the jar's glossy finish.

Safety

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from flammable objects, children, pets and drafts.
